Streamlined Life: Back to the Drawing Board

a new "big-girl" toy for me!

Happy New Year! My last leg of 2012 had been incredibly busy and 2013 is bringing so much excitement for me. 2012 had been getting my feet wet on creating passive income and I'm glad to be pretty successful on achieving it. 2013 is opening up a new biz idea and taking it to the next level.

So...back to the drawing board and creating awesome stuff! My arms are filled with business, marketing, art and design books and courses and I am happily engaged on each one of them.

What are you looking forward this 2013?

Streamlined Life: When Bad Grammar Happens to Good Bloggers

English is not my native tongue and unconsciously, for the longest time, I had been using that excuse for not publishing what I write online or offline. I used to fear that my grammar will screw up and my friends  who happen to be mostly excellent writers will laugh at my writings.

When you make a typo or a slight grammar glitch in blogging, that's forgivable, but when it's done over and over again... Dear, it ain't cool anymore.  One of my friends told me that she don't write because she lacks cohesion in organizing her thoughts.  I guess we have our own "stupid excuses", yes? Julien Smith said it perfectly:

"Ask yourself out loud: What am I afraid of?

I guarantee that when you do this, when you say it out loud and listen to the answer, your answer will sound stupid. Because most of our issues are pretty stupid."

So what's the antidote for stupid excuses? Doing something about the thing you are afraid of once and for all! That's the short story my friends, how one day I found myself reading a copy of Ann Batko's "When Bad Grammar Happens to Good People". The book happens to be exactly what I need and just I had suspected, the topic on tenses is the toughest, at least for me.

Streamlined Life: BC Bloggers Readership Rescue + A Tumblr History

I had been micro-blogging via Tumblr since it had opened back in 2007. One of Tumblr's first interface was a map showing the members location. Tell you what, there where only 4 pins marked on the Philippine map on the first week that members map was launched. Those pins represented my tumblr as swayback, nansan's, twistedfork's and another tumblog from South (I'm so sorry I can't remember). This is for real and I can still remember twistedfork's comment on my site. He was thrilled to finally see a "Pinay Tumblr".

Free Stuff: To-Do Organizer

I got a message from a friend today letting me know that she got herself a new sketchbook to kickstart our illustration collaboration. Sometimes we just need that small push (that may or may not come in the form of a cute pad) to move our plans. So, in the spirit of productivity, here's a To-Do Organizer available for download. And since I am feeling extra generous, this free file (single page) is not just a regular printable but an editable one. That means you can save printer ink by just typing your data on the answer fields and saving it as a new file. You can keep on moving that dreaded task and the erasure won't show. No one will know, haha!

May all your to-dos come true, friends! Grab the goodie on the button below.

Hey, if you wish to see the entire collection, drop by ListLab shop. Remember to check back often, new products are in the works! :)

Streamlined Life: Business Stuff That Costed Me Thousands of $$$ to Learn

The week that was had been huge for my sanity... because I closed one of my businesses.

Maybe I'll reserve the whole shebang of that story for later. All I can say for now is that it's not that I gave up on running it, I just realized I opened the wrong one. And it took a big chunk of my courage to admit it. If you're on Ev Bogue's mailing list, it's very similar to the time when he realized and admitted he can't push through with his Hovercarding idea that he once was very excited to launch. After a lot less moolah, and a lot of honesty to my self, I also learned these things on the journey:
